FAQs Will existing Landlords require one immediately as of this date?
No, there is no need to acquire an EPC for existing tenancies, only when the tenancy changes.
Will a new certificate be required when changing tenants?
No. A valid certificate will last for 10 years, unless significant changes are made to the energy profile of the property.
Are grants available to landlords to help them pay for improvements to their rental properties?
Yes. Grants are available for improvements such as loft insulation and cavity wall insulation. Examples of useful websites:
