Regarding the alternative arrangements in Scotland

The Scottish Government endorsed the production of the Single Survey for properties for sale in Scotland around the same time as the old HIPS in England & Wales.  When HIPS were abolished, the Scottish Government decided to retain the Single Survey as part of the Home Report.

Save Loosing Lodgement Fees by Acting on Another DEAs Advice

A common problem with entering an EPC certificate for lodgement is a lack of any registered flats at some addresses and most NEW DEAs have never been told what to do about it in training, we all learn from on-the job, or from those who like me share their knowledge for ALL DEAs at DEALocal.com

You can assume that all you have to do is simply add Flat 2 to the address and the software will add the flat to the house number. Unfortunately, I learnt to my cost that this is not true and the results changed as a ground floor flat turned into a Mid Floor flat and it was never mentioned in the print out! I thought the landlord would be ok with it, but he needed the Flat Number of course on the EPC, so I had to act, send emails and find out what to do?

Finally the ball is rolling!

It's only taken 4 months but I have finally carried out, inputed and produced an Energy Performance Certificate. I had nearly given up hope, but on monday when I logged on, I saw I had a request for a quote. I eagerly responded with my best sales patter and within a few hours a phone call was exchanged and an appointment set.

I eagerly rushed around getting papers and equipment in order and the next day turned up in plenty of time. I had completed the survey with in 30mins (not bad for my first one I thought, a five bedroom town house) and spent the next 20mins putting the credit crunch to rights.

I left the client with plenty of business cards and brochures, and went to log my results. I had the EPC in my hand with in an hour and the client had it in his 30mins later. 'Now thats service' he said, 'we aim to please' I responded. Cash paid there and then, £60 in the bank.
