Possible changes to HIP contents
I received my copy of Estate Agent magazine at weekend and there was an article on the changes that are to be implemented to HIP's in April. It was mentioned that pack providers who use personal searches rather than local authority searches will no longer be able to rely on insurance to protect from any omissions in the search. It suggested that pack providers will struggle with both low instruction numbers and possibly higher costs.
I wondered how many DEA's are providing packs to supplement their income and how they think this change may effect them?

There will still be the same
There will still be the same number of instructions as every house will still need one although ultimately its going to push up the prices. Also, the HIP will be required from the first day of marketing so there will be greater pressure on the HIP provider.
The HIP will also require a property information questionnaire to be included which has to be filled in by the seller...
But remember, this is only to make everyones life easier........!
