As from 21st May 2010, Home Information Packs, HIPs, will no longer be required as part of the home selling process. There is still a legal requirement for you to have at least commissioned / ordered an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) prior to putting your property on the market. Failure to do so could result in a fine.
The EPC will tell you how energy efficient your property is and also outline recommendations that can be carried out that will improve your energy rating.
